Winter Fun in McHenry
Now that fall is finally here, winter is just around the corner. Have you started making plans for what you can do as a family this winter in the McHenry area? Did you know that McHenry Township has a sledding hill? Well, when it is covered with snow it offers the ride of a lifetime!
Located at the McHenry Township Park on Route 31 North, is a good sized hill ready and just waiting for snow.  This past summer, the hill was improved with new grading, fencing and shatterproof fiberglass poles to provide everyone with 300 feet of prime sledding fun. It’s open day or night as long as there is a minimum of two inches of snow on the ground.
If you’d like to live closer to all the McHenry winter fun, then make sure to check out McHenry home builder Gerstad Builders’ Liberty Trails community. Homes in this master-planned community range from $178,990 to $308,490 and offer GE appliances, Kohler fixtures, and a choice of oak or white Colonist doors and trim. Liberty Trails offers greenspace, convenience and luxury, all in one package. Students are served by Hilltop Elementary, Duker Elementary, McHenry Middle and McHenry High schools. For more information, stop by our Sales Office at 1600 Reagan Blvd., McHenry, IL 60051 or call

Sledding is at your own risk, as the hill is not supervised. There are also regulations and safety recommendations that you need to be aware of, so make sure you check out these regulations in the McHenry Township Winter 2010/2011 Newsletter or at www.mchenrytownship.com. It’s time to locate your sleds and get them ready.  This family fun time is not that far away! Let us know what your favorite winter sport is! We’d love to have your comments on our blog.
