Two of McHenry County residents’ favorite festivals are just around the corner, and lovers of art and wine are going to be excited! Ring in summer by attending the third annual Spring Wine Walk, being held in conjunction with the Fine Arts Festival in downtown Richmond this Saturday, June 28.

Get ready for a day filled with family fun Saturday, May 3 at the Casting for Cures trout fishing event at Spring Grove Hatchery Park, hosted by Nicole Mendlik and the Cheri Amore Memorial. Proceeds raised will be donated to the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer (MACC) Fund, a non-profit organization that supports research into the effective treatment and cure of childhood cancer and other related blood disorders. The event will be held from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and will have a variety of exciting activities for all ages, including trout fishing, fly fishing lessons, games, crafts, face painting, a petting zoo, raffles, a silent auction, trackless train rides and a princess meet and greet.

Come and celebrate the gift of life and honor the memory of Cheri Amore, an “exceptional and energetic young lady who passed away at the very young age of 17,” after battling leukemia for 14 years, according to the Casting for Cures website.
