Warmer weather has finally arrived in the Chicagoland area which means Farmers Markets are opening up! Residents of Gerstad Builders communities are fortunate to have convenient access to markets in Richmond, Poplar Grove and McHenry. There are also Farmers Markets in neighboring towns for example; Crystal Lake, that offers handmade candles and soaps, unique treats for pets and delicious fresh produce. 

Gerstad Builders has listed out a few markets that are a must to visit.

Huntley Farmers Market

Located in downtown Huntley on the Huntley Square, this market features a variety of farm raised meats, to a variety of fresh produce. Visitors can also enjoy live music and many special events that will take place throughout the season. The market is open on Saturdays from 8am – 1pm till October.

Woodstock Farmers Market

Voted the #1 Farmers Market in Illinois by the American Farmland Trust and Best of the Fox McHenry County voted them #1 this is a must visit market. During the summer months, it features fresh fruits and vegetables, desserts, cheeses and much more. All vendors produce or grow all their own items which adds to the uniqueness of this Farmers Market. Open until October, Tuesdays and Saturdays from 8am – 1pm.

Stade’s Farm & Market

Open everyday from 9am – 6pm until November, come out and enjoy the feeling of being out in the country. Every weekend there are special events and lots of family fun. Visit the market section for fresh produce, delicious baked goods such as apple cider donuts. There is a wide variety of gourmet foods available for purchase. Stade’s Farm is located in McHenry at 3709 Miller Road.

Crystal Lake Farmers Market

Located at 25 West Crystal Lake Avenue in downtown Crystal Lake. This market has local vendors from fresh fruit and vegetables, organic eggs and meat. Don’t forget to pick up some fresh baked goods. There are plenty of options for people who are gluten free and/or vegan. Live entertainment is featured in the Depot Park gazebo. This summer market is open on Saturdays from 8am – 1pm till October.

Lake Geneva Outdoor Market

Located just a few miles away from Gerstad Builders Bailey Estates community, in Lake Geneva, this market offers customers some of the best locally grown produce. There are vendors that offer crafts and handcrafted gifts. Enjoy this Farmers Market till October on Saturdays from 9am – 1pm.
