They are one of the largest â€œu-pickâ€ apple orchards in northern Illinois, with over 15,000 apple trees and two orchards. Edwards Apple Orchard, Poplar Grove.
- This family-owned orchard has been around since 1964, and the variety of things to do makes it enjoyable for all ages! The kids can enjoy the playground and the petting zoo with many farm animals, enjoy a hayride through the orchard, all while indulging in their famous warm apple cider donuts – donâ€™t forget to buy a few more to take home! Richardson Adventure Farm, Spring Grove.
- Richardson Adventure farm is home of the â€œworldâ€™s largestâ€ corn maze, and this yearâ€™s theme honors the moon landing, Apollo 11. This farm isnâ€™t only a corn maze though, there are over 30 activities for all ages to enjoy. From pig racing to the jumping pillow, every member of the family will find something fun to do! Make a day out of it by renting a campfire site to enjoy all that the farm has to offer. Open September 7th through November.
Homestead Orchard, Woodstock.
- With 23 different types of apples, including McIntosh, Gala and Sweet 16, you are bound to find your favorite one at Homestead Orchards. Relax, see, and hear the nature around you at this quiet orchard. Homestead Orchard is home to one of the largest and oldest maple trees in McHenry County, and their historical 1880s barn has many hand-crafted items, glassware, and antique furniture for sale. Open now through end of harvest.
