mchenry county corn mazeGet into your car and head up to the northern McHenry County area to enjoy some of the best tree colors and fall activities. Two places that are must sees are Richardson Farm and Stade’s Farm & Market. While you are in the area, we’d love for you to visit our McHenry County new homes by stopping by our Gerstad Homes communities too!

Richardson Farm is known for the worlds largest corn maze.  Every year a new one is planned out by the Richardson family.  Solving the maze is a wholesome, country activity that your whole family is sure to enjoy. Do visit the Richardson Farm website.  There you can view their past corn mazes.

Stade’s Farm & Market host Shades of Autumn for eight weekends in the fall.  You can pick your own pumpkins, visit the farm stands, taste fresh cider donuts and purchase fresh baked pies. Their newest treat for 2010 is haunted hay rides on Friday and Saturday nights from dusk til 11 pm.

In keeping with the fall festivals Gerstad Builders (McHenry County #1 Home Builder) has decided to offer a fall incentive to home buyers in the month of October.  If a home purchase is made this month at The Trails of Pheasant Ridge, a free fireplace will be included in the home purchase.  The Trails of Pheasant Ridge is located in the quaint town of Richmond Illinois.

Richmond, Illinois is the town of yesteryear.  Bordering  on the Wisconsin-Illinois line this town will take you back in time to when life was simple.  The community is small with only 32 homesites.  Even the street lamps in the community remind you of yesteryear. Gerstad Builders has recently introduced their stimulus package in Pheasant Ridge.  This package includes four new floor plans.  Our stimulus package can get a first time buyer into a new home for the low price of $187,990. This price includes full basements, central air conditioning, 9″ ft. first floor ceilings, corian kitchen and bath tops, drywall and painted two car garages, and sod in front and seed in side and rear yard. Hours are Saturday and Sunday 12-5 pm.
