Visit Over 300 Crafters at the Annual Fair Diddley in McHenry

Fair Diddley Woodstock SquareGet ready for one of McHenry’s County’s most anticipated festivals, the 47th annual Fair Diddley! Grab the family or a group of friends and head to historic Woodstock square this Sunday, May 17 to enjoy crafts, food and more – all for a fantastic cause.

This year’s Fair Diddley will feature over 300 local artists, bakers and crafters. This huge diversity of unique, handmade items will be available for guests to browse and purchase. Hosted by the Mental Health Resource League for McHenry County, proceeds will benefit local mental health agencies to provide help for youth programs, crisis hotlines, abuse, addictions and other areas in need. This exciting and charitable event will take place this Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Parking and admission are completely free, so you can save all your spending money for the fair’s crafts.

Now in its 47th year, the Fair Diddley began in 1969 with a craft show to raise money for local health agencies. This popular event has continued to flourish, attracting almost 10,000 visitors over the years. Thanks to the 2014 Fair Diddley, more than $205,000 was able to be distributed to 19 McHenry County mental health agencies, providing much-needed aid for these crisis centers. In addition to the fair, MHRL works year-round to raise donations for the local community, awarding more than $4.9 million to McHenry County agencies since its foundation in 1967.

Shuttle buses will be available to transport visitors to and from Woodstock Square. Guests will be picked up at the west end of the Government center parking lot and dropped off at the corner of Calhoun and Johnson Street, located right outside Woodstock Square. Buses will run every 10 minutes from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with no fee required.
