Credit to Green Street Cruise Nights
McHenry residents, it's time to rev up your engines for Green Street Cruise Nights! The area's largest and longest running cruise night is going on each Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. now through Monday, September 30.
Each week, area residents are invited to come look at more than 300 cool cars, including the week's featured cars, as well as visit with vendors, enter into the 50/50 raffle benefitting Fish of McHenry Food Pantry, sample food and drinks, listen to live music and enjoy family fun.
If you're wondering what's on tap for the next few weeks, here's a look at the schedule of events and featured cars:
September 16: Live Music by a solo guitarist and pony cars (Mustang, Cougar, Camaro, Firebird, Javelin, AMX, Challenger, Barracuda, etc.)
September 23: Mopar cars (Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep and Ram)

McHenry County homes near the Blues, Brews & BBQ Festival
If you're a McHenry new homes resident looking for a fun way to kick off the month of August, don't miss the McHenry Rotary's Blues, Brews & BBQ Festival this weekend! Held from Friday, August 2 through Sunday, August 4 at Petersen Park on scenic McCullom Lake, this annual event is one many residents look forward to all year long.
Attendees will find a wide array of quality barbecue cooked to perfection by well-known restaurants, as well as all of your favorite side dishes and sweets to satisfy your taste buds. Items on this year's menu include ribs, rib tips, BBQ pulled pork pizza, pulled pork, pulled brisket, chicken wings, BBQ Chinese riblets, hot dogs, burgers, corns, funnel cakes, ice cream and shaved ice. Summer is a great time to get out and experience all that McHenry County has to offer. If you own McHenry County real estate and are looking for something fun to do this season, then check out the Northern Illinois Quilt Fest (NIQF).
During the months of July, August and September, McHenry County will be host to the NIQF. The festivities kick off with a preview night on June 30 at the McHenry County Historical Society Museum; an anchor site of the McHenry County NIQF. Other anchor sites include Grace Farm Studios, McHenry County College and Countryside Flower Shop, Garden Center & Nursery.
Some of the highlights of the event include “How to Plant a Quilt Garden” on July 9 and a Quilt Show, Quilt Garden Sept. 17 and 18 at Countryside Flower Shop. Plus, on Aug. 19 and 20 at the Cosman Center in Huntley, the Gazebo Quilters and Huntley Park District will present a weekend of Quilts of Valor and Under My Wings with internationally renowned speaker Marianne Fons.
