This makes the fifth year of consecutively winning this award and ten years of participating in the Best of the Fox.

Awarded every year by the Northwest Herald, Best of the Fox is a symbol of the best-of-the-best in McHenry County. According to the Northwest Herald, its mission is to serve the communities and make them a better place to live. The Best of the Fox awards is one of the ways the paper aims to serve its community. It also helps boost local business in the community.

Our business is family-owned, having been started by Donald L. Gerstad and continued by his son Roger Gerstad. In 1985, the company underwent a massive expansion, developing communities across northeastern Illinois and in southeastern Wisconsin. Today, we are building in four established communities: Liberty Trails in McHenry, Trails of Dawson Creek in Poplar Grove, The Trails of Pheasant Ridge in Richmond, and Bailey Estates in Williams Bay, Wisconsin.
