Summer is the perfect time to enjoy festivals, events and fairs. In Boone County this weekend, the Belvidere Heritage Days celebration will feature fun for the whole community with live music, food, fireworks, games and more.

The festival will last all weekend and will take place in downtown Belvidere and the Boone County Fairgrounds. Also, in addition to an action-packed line-up of activities, carnival rides will be set up all three days at Jack Wolf Dealership!

On Friday, June 23, downtown Belvidere will kick off the festival with mural painting in the morning and more activities later at night. Then, at the Boone County Fairgrounds, get your grills fired up for the Heritage Days Steak Throwdown Contest!

The next day, come out and enjoy Paint on State in downtown Belvidere, and make sure to stop and shop at the vintage market. Also, make your way to the Boone County Fairgrounds and taste all the entries in the Kansas City BBQ Competition! Another great experience is the car show downtown, sure to catch the eye of any car lover or enthusiast.

On the final day of the festival, enter or witness the bed races downtown, immediately followed by the parade, which will feature over 80 entries this year! To round out the perfect Heritage Day 2017 celebration, come to the fairgrounds to see the fireworks display starting at 9 p.m. (now coordinated with music!)
