Winter Fun for the Whole Family at the 21st Annual Lake Geneva Winterfest
Come one come all to Winterfest at beautiful Lake Geneva! For more than 20 years, Winterfest has been delighting people from all over the country with its winter-themed events and activities. From the chili cook-off and Cocoa Crawl to the annual crowd favorite, the U.S. Snow Sculpting Competition, there’s something for everyone to enjoy at Winterfest.
Winterfest will officially begin with the start of the U.S. Snow Sculpting Competition on February 3. Snow sculpting teams from across the country will gather to compete for the title of best sculptor, including the honors of “People’s Choice” and the “Spirit Award,” which is bestowed upon the team or individual that best represents the ideals of the competition. This exhibition draws more than 20,000 people each year and concludes with the awards ceremony on February 6.
On February 5, bring the whole family downtown to the Lake Geneva Cocoa Crawl. Explore downtown as you warm up with free hot cocoa and the chance to win some fantastic prizes. You can even vote for your favorite cocoa recipe! Then, head on over to the Baker House for their 6th annual “Fire & Ice Lounge” for fireside drinks served in ice cups or have the Baker Houses’ signature hot toddies. The Fire & Ice Lounge will be open from February 5 through 7 and February 12 through 14.
Enjoy all-day fun on February 6 at the Winter Carnival, complete with a cross country ski race, human bowling, slalom races, snowman decorating contests, a kayak race and much more! Take a break for lunch at the chili cook-off or even the free beer tasting at Hill Country Market.
Spend your Super Bowl Sunday tailgating with the Lake Geneva School of Cooking. Take in the big game on the large screen TV and sample Chef John’s traditional Sample Tailgating Menu. Then, try your hand at recreating these tasty recipes!
There are tons of events for the whole family to enjoy throughout the rest of week, including Bingo Night, Frosty’s Beach Bonfire, Couples Cooking Classes and much, much more! Winterfest will conclude on February 13 with the annual Human Dog Sled Race. There’s no telling what strategy will win this exciting and unique event, so be sure to come out to see who ends up as the top dog.
