Did you miss the annual Oktoberfest in downtown Lake Geneva last weekend, or are you looking for even more Oktoberfest fun? Then check out the Oktoberfest happening this Saturday, Oct. 17 in Elkhorn! The event starts at 9 a.m. and lasts until 5 p.m., so bring your family for an all-day festival full of food and activities. Admission is free, and residents of our Bailey Estates community are only a short drive away from Elkhorn’s downtown area, where the festival takes place.
The 10th Annual Elkhorn Oktoberfest features more than 100 vendors selling everything from antiques to produce. There will be handcrafted items, consultants and plants, all showcased in Elkhorn’s downtown square. An entire block of downtown Elkhorn will be closed to traffic specifically for Oktoberfest, with a large main stage set up for all day performances. Check out the Toe to Toe Ballet, the Walworth County Cloggers and the live band, Alyson Road.
There will also be a wide variety of delicious food vendors, as well as a chili cook-off happening from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. For only $5, you can taste all the best chili in the area. A wine and beer tasting tent will also be open in Pocket Park from 11 a.m. until the end of the festival, with a combination of German beer and wine and some seasonal favorites.
There’s plenty of fun for the kids, too. Children can enjoy fall activities like pumpkin painting as well as festival staples like games and inflatables. There’s also the 6th Annual Classic Car Show for any car enthusiasts in the family. For more information about the Elkhorn Oktoberfest, visit www.elkhornchamber.com.
