It’s hard to believe that September is already here and that the first day of fall is only a few short weeks away! To celebrate the changing seasons, Gerstad Builders has put together a list of “can’t miss” fall festivals coming up near its new homes communities in Williams Bay, Wisconsin and McHenry, Illinois.

Residents of Bailey Estates in Williams Bay can begin having fall fun as early as this weekend by taking a trip to The Elegant Farmer to attend The Autumn Harvest Festival. Located approximately 30 minutes away from Bailey Estates, The Elegant Farmer will be drawing in crowds from all across the area to pick apples from its orchard, browse through the pumpkin patch, go for a hay ride or wind through its five acre corn maze.  Don’t forget to stop by the market to sample delicious treats, including the famous “pie in a bag.” 

Coming up next weekend is the Taste of Lake Geneva, scheduled to be held Saturday, September 13 at Flat Iron Park from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Attendees of this fun event can enjoy eating delicious food from some of the area’s best restaurants, including The Backyard and Bona’s Italian Kitchen, as well as tasty snacks like Constant Cravings popcorn. Craft beer fans will be excited to sample delicious fall brews and wine from Geneva Lake Brewing Company and Sprecher’s Restaurant and Pub. There will also be live music throughout the event from The Lake Geneva House of Music, which is sure to get your toes tapping!

Finally, the homeowners at Liberty Trails in McHenry can celebrate the changing seasons at this year’s Johnny Appleseed Festival in downtown Crystal Lake on Saturday, Sept. 27 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Attendees will enjoy storytelling from Johnny Appleseed, a large craft fair, scarecrow decorating, pie eating contests and more!
