McHenry County to Host Quilt Fest

Summer is a great time to get out and experience all that McHenry County has to offer. If you own McHenry County real estate and are looking for something fun to do this season, then check out the Northern Illinois Quilt Fest (NIQF).

During the months of July, August and September, McHenry County will be host to the NIQF. The festivities kick off with a preview night on June 30 at the McHenry County Historical Society Museum; an anchor site of the McHenry County NIQF. Other anchor sites include Grace Farm Studios, McHenry County College and Countryside Flower Shop, Garden Center & Nursery.

Some of the highlights of the event include “How to Plant a Quilt Garden” on July 9 and a Quilt Show, Quilt Garden Sept. 17 and 18 at Countryside Flower Shop. Plus, on Aug. 19 and 20 at the Cosman Center in Huntley, the Gazebo Quilters and Huntley Park District will present a weekend of Quilts of Valor and Under My Wings with internationally renowned speaker Marianne Fons. With so much to do and see, you’re sure to find a quilting event that’s perfect for you.
