Cabin Fever is Getting to Me!

Are you beginning to feel spring fever? Are you ready to get outside of your Richmond new homes again and enjoy gardening? While our winter weather hasn’t melted into spring yet, you can still begin your gardening fun indoors with the addition of houseplants.

Houseplants, just like outside plants, go through a dormant process where they take a growth breather. Before you dig in, take a look to see if your houseplants are still dormant or waking up. If you see sprouts, buds or bright color changes, your plants are ready for you to give them a little attention. Trimming, splitting, repotting, top-dressing soil or fertilizing should be on the top of your to-do list. Any of these processes won’t stress your plants and will give you great rewards in the upcoming blooming months.

So, the next time you experience a gloomy weather day (like later this week), brighten up your life with some indoor gardening. Think Spring!

If you’re ready to move from houseplants to outdoor gardening but don’t own your home, then Gerstad Builders has some great news for you. We’ve extended our Sweetheart Deals until March 17; so, you still have a chance to receive an 11 percent discount on new ranch or two-story homes at Liberty Trails, Bailey Estates and The Trails of Dawson Creek.
